Colvin Breaks Single-Season Saves Record In Road SAA Loss, 16-6

DANVILLE, KENTUCKY - Southwesten University Women's Lacrosse battled goal for goal with Centre College in the first half only down two at halftime, but ultimately fell short after the Colonels dominated the second half on Friday afternoon, 16-6. The Pirates drop their first SAA game of the year with four more opportunities remaining.

Sophomore Hannah Colvin made history in two different ways. First, the sophomore recorded 19 saves to tie her own school record for a single-game. Second, the Pirates goalie has officially become the All-Time Program Leader in Single-Season Saves at 126 with four games still to play. Colvin breaks Emma Bethke's previous program record after the monster night. The Las Vegas native has recorded eight straight double-digit save performances in a row with a .492 save percentage.

The Pirates and the Colonels matched up for the first time both as members of the SAA. Southwestern came out firing taking an early 3-1 lead. Junior Sydney Martin tied the game at one on the man-up opportunity. Senior Grace Van Dinter opened the second quarter with a goal on the dish from senior Elaina Seeley. One minute later, Martin extended the lead to two goals with her second of the day.

Centre scored four unanswered goals in the second quarter with a crucial one six seconds before the half as the Pirates trailed 5-3 going into the break. The Pirates converted all three of their shots on goals in the first half. However, Centre won the third quarter with six goals, leading 11-5 after three. Martin had two goals in the third quarter with four on the night, tying her career high. Centre scored five of the last six goals in fourth quarter as Van Dinter notched her second of the day in a losing effort.
