GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University softball delivered a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against Whitworth University in a Pirates vs. Pirates matchup at Taylor-Sanders Field. Southwestern claimed a 5–1 victory in game one before walking off game two with a 9–1 win in five innings to improve to 5–3 overall on the season.The game two victory also marked Head Coach Alexis Lynn's 100th career win, a milestone moment for the Pirate program.
GAME 1 – Southwestern 5, Whitworth 1
Whitworth struck first in the opening inning with an unearned run, but Southwestern quickly answered in the bottom half. Allie Fields scored on a wild pitch to even the game before Tauryn Alexander crossed the plate on a passed ball to give the Pirates a 2–1 lead.
Southwestern added three more runs in the second inning, taking advantage of disciplined at-bats and defensive miscues. Fields was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home a run, Alexander drew a bases-loaded walk for another RBI, and Calle Collier later scored on an error to extend the advantage to 5–1.
From there, Mazlyn Heyer controlled the game in the circle. The right-hander tossed a complete-game performance, allowing just one unearned run on six hits while striking out four to secure the win.

GAME 2 – Southwestern 9, Whitworth 1 (5 Innings)
Southwestern carried its momentum into game two, jumping on the scoreboard in the first inning when Tara Archibald drew an RBI walk to bring home Calle Collier.
The Pirates broke the game open in the second inning as Collier singled home a run and Gilman followed with a two-run double to make it 4–0. Southwestern continued to apply pressure offensively, adding a run in the third on an RBI single from Aryana Dunkelberger.
A three-run fourth inning extended the lead further, highlighted by an RBI double from Archibald and a two-run single from Darby Burke. After Whitworth scored once in the fifth, Southwestern sealed the victory in walk-off fashion when Izabella Hernandez drove in the final run on a fielder's choice to end the game early via run rule.
Jaden Wheeler earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on six hits across five innings while striking out three.
