GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University softball team battled until the final out in both contests of Tuesday night's doubleheader at Concordia University Texas, but the Pirates came up just short in each game, falling 6–5 in extra innings in game one and 6–5 in the nightcap.
GAME 1 – Concordia 6, Southwestern 5 (8 Innings)
Southwestern struck first in the second inning, capitalizing on patience at the plate. Calle Collier drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game's first run, and Aryana Dunkelberger followed with an RBI walk to double the lead. Tauryn Alexander then singled up the middle to score another run and give the Pirates a 3–0 advantage.
The Pirates added two more runs in the fourth inning when Dunkelberger singled up the middle to score Allie Fields, and Alexander delivered again with an RBI single to left field to extend the lead to 5–0.
Concordia began its comeback in the sixth inning with a two-run frame, then tied the game in the seventh behind an RBI groundout and a two-run double. With the score even at 5–5, the Tornados pushed across the winning run in the eighth on a fielder's choice to claim the 6–5 walk-off victory.

GAME 2 – Concordia 6, Southwestern 5
Concordia jumped out early with three runs in the first inning and added another in the third to take a 4–0 lead. The Tornados extended the advantage to 5–1 in the fourth after Southwestern got on the board with an RBI single to center field from Darby Burke that scored Sophia Ytuarte.
The Pirates rallied in the fifth inning, beginning with an RBI single from Dunkelberger that brought home Allie Fields. Ytuarte followed with a single through the left side to score Logan Kieselhorst and trim the deficit to 5–3.
Southwestern mounted a late comeback in the seventh inning. Ytuarte advanced on a wild pitch that allowed Jaydan Ewart to score, and moments later, Ytuarte crossed the plate on a passed ball to tie the game at 5–5. Concordia answered in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI double down the right field line to secure the 6–5 win and complete the sweep.
