GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -  Southwestern University Volleyball team stands unbeaten in the SAA Standings following their 3-0 weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.The Pirates played four sets against Millsaps College today to end the weekend, they fell in the first set 25-27, but came back and dominated the next three sets with final scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-18.  Southwestern has won the last six matches, moving their overall record to 10-2 thus far.

"Making some key adjustments while in the middle of a match is key to our ability to defend and play clean volleyball each set.  We keyed in on some of Millsaps attacking tendencies, and this turned the match tide a bit" stated head coach Don Flora. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Freshman Tatum Ahrens put on a show collecting a match high of sixteen kills hitting a .303% while adding four blocks, two service aces and thirteen digs for 20.5 points

• Pirates tallied twelve blocks in the contest, Lily McWhorter led the team in blocks with six total - a new career high

• Setters Annika Flora and Taylor Johnson made great choices within their setting distribution racking up a combined fifty-five assists out of Southwestern's fifty-nine

GAME NOTES

• Southwestern had five different Pirates hitting above .300% for the match, those being T. Ahrens, Emily Marks, Kendall Jurgens, L. McWhorter, and Chloe Blanchard

• Pirate defenders out dug Majors 56-44, Izzy Rodriguez contributed twenty-one digs

• Southwestern will be back in Atlanta, Georgia to face Berry College, Rhodes College, and Centre College for another SAA conference pod weekend. The first contest will take place on Saturday, September 27th at 12:00 PM (CST).
