MSOC Scatters Season-High Seven Goals to Stay Undefeated

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University erupted out the locker room at halftime after an early Austin College goal, scoring five second half goals to beat the Kangeroos on Saturday night, 7-1. Three of the Pirates goals came within four minutes of each other.

The Pirates only scored one goal in two matches last weekend in the win and draw. Southwestern changed that fortune this week with 11 combined goals in two matches as the squad stays undefeated at 7-0-1.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
  • 30 minutes passed in the match before junior Cooper Pero headed in a goal from senior Greyson Pinto's long throw in.
  • The theme for the Pirates offensive out pour tonight was scoring in close bunches.
  • Two minutes later freshman Grey Richards made a fantastic move in the box, slotting in the second goal with his left foot. Fellow freshman Anthony Peacher assisted on the play.
  • Austin College cut the match in half with a goal out of the halftime break.
  • Southwestern responded in flying colors as sophomore Ross Anderson sent in a set piece from half field to senior Raghav Sharma for a header goal.
  • Two minutes later, sophomore Quinn MacLeod scored on another set piece. Pinto heaved the long throw as Sharma flicked it to MacLeod for the double assist.
  • The very next minute, Richards drew a penalty kick in the box. Sharma stepped to score in his second of the night and third goal of the season.
  • Sophomores Diego Muller and Chase Johnson finished their first goals as Pirates to make it 7-1. Junior Lucas Marino and freshman Peacher assisted on the goals.
