GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Softball team took the short trip to North Austin to take on the Concordia (TX) University Tornados in a three game series at Roberts Family Field on Friday April 25th and Saturday April 26th. The Tornados controlled game one keeping the Pirates scoreless for five innings, securing the win 11-0. Tornado bats remained hot throughout game two proving to be too much for the Pirates, the final for game two was 10-2 in favor of Concordia. In the final game of the series, the Pirates gained a lead with a run in the top of the first, but the Tornados responded in the bottom half of the first to tie the game up. Concordia would go on to out score the Pirates by five runs over the remaining six innings resulting in a 6-1 final and a series sweep for Concordia.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Pinch hitter Calle Collier led the Pirates in hits with a single down the left field line in the top of the 5th inning.

Three different Pirates added a walk to their stat line, those being Emily Nevarez, Macey Gilman, and Logan Kieselhorst.

Sophomore Jaden Wheeler, came on in relief in the top of the 5th inning, and recorded three strikeouts which led the game for both teams.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Jodi Glenn-Millhouse, Senior, led the Pirates in hits with two while also recording an RBI and a run to her stat line.

Catcher Tauryn Alexander knocked in the first run of the game in the top of the first inning to give the Pirates their first lead of the series.Â

The Pirates were two for two on stolen base opportunities with Jodi Glenn-Millhouse and Erica Otto each recording one in the second game of the doubleheader.
GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Senior Hailey Arrington finished the game for the Pirates on the mound, recording four outs and only allowing one baserunner on a walk.

Third baseman Calle Collier led the Pirates with two hits, finishing the game with an on-base percentage of .667.Â
