GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Baseball team traveled south to San Antonio, Texas to take on nationally ranked Trinity University Tigers on Friday, April 25th, Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th. The Pirates started the series off by scoring a run in the top of the first, but ultimately falling to the Tigers in game one 9-5. Trinity pitching was too much for Southwestern in game two resulting in a 9-0 win for the Tigers. Despite a five run lead entering the bottom of the third inning, the Pirates dropped the third and final game of the series 17-7.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

Two Pirates recorded three hits each, those two being Wyatt Kuhlow and Christian Melillo.

Christian Mellilo, Senior, reached base on all five of his plate appearances and led the Pirates in RBIs with three, one of which came on a solo homerun in the third inning.Â

Freshman Walker Shaw came on in relief and recorded four outs without giving up a baserunner while also striking out two batters.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

Three different Pirates recorded hits in the second game of the series, those hits coming from James Vaquero, Tres Organ and Tanner Teffs.

Left Fielder Christian Melillo led the Pirates in on-base percentage getting on base twice via walk in his four plate appearances.Â

Tres Organ came on in the 6th inning in relief and held the Tigers scoreless while recording one strikeout.
GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTSÂ Â

Senior James Vaquero led the Pirates with four RBIs on two hits in the contest, which led to Vaquero's 200th career hit.

Hits were plentiful in the final game of the series, as four different Southwestern hitters recorded two hits, coming by way of Conner Duffey, James Vaquero, Tres Organ and Logan Wilson.

Two Pirates scored two runs each, those two were Logan Wilson and Ben Feuer.
