Volleyball Falls In Three Sets To Schreiner

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -  Southwestern Volleyball dropped a competitive three-set match to Schreiner University on Tuesday night, falling 25-24, 25-23, 25-22 in a contest that featured narrow margins throughout. Despite strong individual performances, the Pirates were edged out in key moments as the Mountaineers capitalized on a 10-2 blocking advantage to secure the sweep.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Senior Emily Marks led the Pirates offensively, recording 14 kills while hitting an efficient .333 on the night

  • Lily McWhorter was also a bright spot at the net, adding eight kills on zero errors and posting a solo block.

  • Freshman Tatum Ahrens contributed across the board with six kills, seven digs, and a team-high three service aces.

GAME NOTES

  • Izzy Rodriguez anchored the back row with 15 digs, while Annika Flora directed the offense with 24 assists.

  • As a team, Southwestern hit .203, but struggled to find rhythm against Schreiner's strong presence at the net.

UP NEXT 

  • Southwestern hits the road again on Wednesday, October 8, traveling to Seguin, Texas to take on Texas Lutheran in non-conference action. The Pirates will then return home to resume conference play on Friday, October 11, looking to bounce back in front of their home crowd.
