Men's Swim Faces off Against Trinity in Dual Meet

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's Swim team traveled to San Antonio, Texas for their dual meet against conference opponent Trinity University on Saturday. The Pirates accumulated 68 points against the Tigers, while Trinity amassed 205 in their home pool.

HIGHLIGHTS (First Place Finishes)
  • 200 Medley Relay - In the first event of the meet for the men, the team of Owen Rodrigue, Luke Lawhon, Tim Young and Eli Allen took first place with a time of 1:36.28, beating Trinity by just under two seconds (1.8).
  • 50 Freestyle - In his second win of the day, first individual, Eli Allen took first in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a time of 21.3 seconds,winning the event by .93 seconds. 
  • 200 Backstroke - Southwestern took first and second in the event, led by Andrew Renninger who clocked in at 1:59.14, followed by his teammate Christophe Gadin at two minutes and three seconds. 
NOTABLE FINISHES
  • 100 Freestyle - Junior Owen Rodrigue placed second in the sprint at a time of 49.36, which was .7 seconds off the first place time. 
  • 200 Freestyle Relay - In the last event of the day the team of Rodrigue, Lawhon, Young and Allen again showed well in the relay's coming in third with a time of 1:27.96. The top three teams in the event were separated by just half a second. (1:27.41 in first, 1:27.55 in second place)
UP NEXT 
  • Southwestern will host its final meet of the season on Janaury 25th at 11:00 AM against the University of Texas - Permian Basin at the Walzel Natatorium.
