GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Men's Basketball opened up their regular season at home on Tuesday night against the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets. The Pirates trailed by eight points going into halftime after leading by as much as twelve midway through the half. Southwestern's point differential was just two points in the second half, but the Yellow Jackets maintained their lead coming out of halftime and won 96-86 over Southwestern.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Freshman guard Aedan Lewis went for a game high twenty four points, shooting 8/13 from the field and picking up six rebounds. He also had three steals.
• Senior forward Brock Luechtefeld scored a double-double in his first outing of the season, scoring nineteen points with eleven rebounds.
• Shobby Enakpene totaled eight points, 3/9 from the field, and grabbed five rebounds. 

NOTES

• The Pirates shot a total of forty-one free throws, making twenty-six for a 63.4% free throw percentage. 
• The Yellow Jackets were 9/21 from beyond the arc while the Pirates were 2/14 (14.3%).
• Southwestern secured forty-seven rebounds in the game, out-rebounding Howard Payne 47-31.
