SHERMAN, Texas – Three first half goals dug the Pirates a hole they were unable to get out of as they dropped their opening round match of the SCAC Championship to Austin College 3-2.

A bending free kick just outside the 18-yard box by Rory McCullough early in the second half started SU's comeback. Christian Lopez added to the comeback with a low crossing ball that careened off the back of the keeper and into the net, pulling the Pirates within one with 27 minutes remaining.

Southwestern ends their season with an 8-12 record.
