Box Score

Texas Lutheran, undefeated in conference play, handed the Pirates a 41-14 loss on Saturday.

TLU jumped out to an early lead, scoring on the first play from scrimmage on a 40 yard run from Barrolle after Dowling returned the opening kickoff 39 yards.

The Bulldogs needed just two plays on their next scoring drive as Trenton White rumbled into the end zone after a 75 yard run. White added another rushing touchdown with just over six minutes remaining in the first quarter to put SU in the hole 21-0.

A pair of field goals and a passing touchdown from White to Oliver to close the second quarter sent the Pirates into halftime with a 34-0 deficit.

Southwestern 's offense really began clicking as the second half got underway and the Pirates finally put some points on the board as Dylan Wilburn scored from three yards out to cap off a five play, 76-yard drive. An unsuccessful extra point brought the score to 34-6 with 2:15 remaining in the third quarter.

TLU responded and scored again in the fourth on a 25-yard completion to Reggie Jackson from Zach Galindo. Southwestern had the final scoring drive, scoring with 4:29 remaining in the game. Matt Gillen's 16 yard reception from Jeremy Snyder with a successful 2-point conversion to Willis Johnson brought the game to a close with the 41-14 final.

Snyder was 14-36 on the day for 187 yards and one touchdown. Wilburn posted 95 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown to lead the ground attack for the Pirates. Gillen logged 81 yards on seven receptions and one touchdown.
