MEN'S SOCCER REBOUNDS TO DEFEAT AUSTIN COLLEGE 2-1

SHERMAN, Texas – The Pirate men's soccer team rebounded from their conference opener loss to take down Austin College 2-1 on Sunday in their second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the year. The Pirates improve to 4-3 on the season and 1-1 in SCAC action while the 'Roos fall to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Austin College came out on the offensive to start the second half taking five shots in the early minutes and that pressure would pay off when Kendall found Temple who headed it home to make it a 1-1 game in the 57th minute of action.

Southwestern recaptured the momentum and the lead in the 73rd minute when Patrick Flanigan fed Josh Spencer for the go ahead goal to put the Pirates up 2-1.
