Todd Boone went 2-for-4 for Southwestern, while Murphy and Wooten each drove in a pair of runs. Tyler Berry went 3-for-4 with three runs scored to lead the Millsaps' offense.

The second contest, Millsaps jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Kyle Belski's RBI groundout in the Pirates' half of the first cut the deficit to 2-1.

Millsaps pushed across four runs in the third inning to extend its lead to 6-1, but Southwestern responded with a pair of runs to make it a 6-3 contest.

Southwestern put together a rally in the fifth and tied the score at 6-6 on RBI's from Murphy, Belski and Mark Noggle. The Majors reclaimed the lead in the seventh on a three-run double to give them a 9-6 lead, but the Pirates shaved a run off their deficit on a sac fly from Wooten to make it a 9-7 game.
