Southwestern University senior Joe Mattingly (Corpus Christi, TX/King HS) was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year for his play during the week of September 18-24.
The Pirate defender helped lead the SU men's team to a 1-0-1 record in a pair of conference games in which it allowed zero goals.
