Gonzalez ran a season best 2:51.40 in the 800 at the Incarnate Word Invitational. She was also a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.
2012 (First-year)
Gonzalez finished 17th at the SCAC Championship in the 400, running a time of 1:11.06. She also finished 17th in the 100 Meter Dash at the Incarnate Word Invitational, running a 15.41.
High School
Maria earned varsity letters in volleyball, basketball, powerlifiting, and track while competing for the Cougars. Maria was named First Team All-Defense in volleyball and was a two time Academic All-District selection. She also finished third in the state for power lifting her junior year and was the state powerlifiting champion her senior year.
Personal
Maria is the daughter of Clicerio and Maria and has three sisters, Diana, Lisa, and Jazmine. Maria is a Spanish/education major with a minor in exercise and sport science at SU.
