Biography

2014

Koinis took home third in the 800 at the SCAC Championships to earn an All-SCAC honor with a season-best time of 2:23.10. She was also the top jumper in the long jump, posting a distance of 4.02 meters at the Tiger Relays on March 28th. Koinis was also a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll. 

2013

Koinis earned All-SCAC honors at the Championships with a time of 2:22.93 in the 800 and a jump of 4.33 in the long jump. She was also a member of the 4x100 that ran a season best 55.81 to earn All-SCAC honors. Koinis was a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll. 

2012 (Sophomore):  

Koinis finished 15th at the SCAC Championships in the 1500, running a personal best 5:12.38. She was a member of the 4X400 Relay team that finished 7th. 

2011 (First-Year):

Koinis came in 15th place in the 1500 at the SCAC Championships with a season best time of 5:30.60.

High School:  

While running for the Tigers of St. Anges Academy, Kara earned four letters in both cross country and track and field. Kara was a two-time recipient of the Cross Country Tiger Award while also being a Marine Science Award winner.

Personal:  

Kara is the daughter of Mike and Rena and has one brother, Kevin.  Kara is majoring in elementary education at SU.
