Linsey Garza serves as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach and as the Athletic Department’s Business Operations Coordinator. She joined the athletics staff in July 2024. A native of Mission, Texas, Coach Garza brings a competitive background and a deep commitment to the Southwestern community. In her dual role with the golf program and athletic administration, she supports the development of Pirate student-athletes while helping advance the department’s day-to-day financial operations.
Linsey graduated from Southwestern University in 2023 with a double major in Business and Spanish. As a student, she excelled academically, took on leadership roles, and worked in the Robertson Center as a Student-Proctor Supervisor. She earned multiple academic honors, including WGCA All-America Scholar and SCAC Academic Honor Roll recognition in four consecutive seasons. In her senior year, Linsey was elected Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She was named to the Dean’s List several times and served as a research assistant to Professor Raji Kunapuli, contributing to work on technology perspectives and the dot-com bubble.
A four-year letterwinner, Garza played a key role in the Pirate’s success. Women's Golf finished second in the SCAC Championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Linsey was a part of teams that set some of the lowest single-round, 36-hole, and 54-hole scores in program history. Individually, she earned All-SCAC Second Team honors in 2021 and 2023, All-SCAC Honorable Mention in 2022, and was named SCAC Golfer of the Week during her sophomore season. She currently holds the lowest 54-hole individual score in the program. Before attending Southwestern, Linsey distinguished herself at Sharyland Pioneer High School, earning four varsity letters, three First-Team All-District selections, and Academic All-State recognition her Senior year.
In Garza’s first season as a coach, Men’s and Women’s Golf each recorded two team wins and five top-three finishes, along with a few medalist awards. Working closely with both programs, she saw how consistent structure and individualized development contribute to sustained success. Looking ahead, Coach Garza is excited to continue growing in her roles, connecting with current and future Pirates, and contributing to the competitive and academic success of Southwestern Golf.
