GEORGETOWN, Texas - The first frame of each half buried the Pirates in a hole they were unable to climb out of as Oneonta State defeated Southwestern 13-6 Thursday night.
The Red Dragons posted three goals in the first quarter and four in the third while holding the Pirates to without a goal in the same time frame.
SU matched Oneonta's effort in the second and fourth but were unable to make the run they needed to close the gap.
Spence Bodenhamer led with three goals on the night while Dylan Weaver, Kai Knight-Turcan and Matt Amerie got in on the action with one goal each. Kyle Kuberski posted 10 saves on 23 shots in the loss.
Southwestern drops to 5-4 with the loss and finally returns to the road to face Birmingham-Southern on Saturday night at 7 pm.
