Southwestern University

2012 (Sophomore)

Gonzalez raced in two meets for Southwestern during her second season with the Pirates. She earned her top finish at the SCAC Championships with a time of 29:58.5. Gonzalez also earned a spot on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.

2011 (First-year)

Gonzalez ran a time of 30:35.41 at the Texas DIII XC Championships. 

High School

Maria earned varsity letters in volleyball, basketball, power lifting, and track while competing for the Cougars.  Maria was named First Team All-Defense in volleyball and was a two time Academic All-District selection.  She also finished third in the state for power lifting her junior year and was the state power lifting champion her senior year.

Personal

Maria is the daughter of Clicerio and Maria and has three sisters, Diana, Lisa, and Jazmine.  Maria is a Spanish/education major with an exercise and sports science minor at SU.
