Biography

2012 (Junior)

A top runner for the Southwestern cross country team, Koinis finished with one top 5 finish and one top 20 finish during the 2012 season. Koinis finished 5th in the Concordia/Southwestern Dual Meet with a time of 21:36.2 in the 5k course. Her 16th place finish came at the SCAC Championships as she covered the 6k course in25:53.6. Koinis was also tabbed to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.

2011 (Sophomore)

Koinis was the second finisher for the Pirates at the SCAC Championships, running a time of 24:57 for 39th place. 

2010 (First-year)

Koinis posted a personal best time at the South/Southeast Regional with a time of 24:36, finishing in 68th place and came in 36th place at the SCAC Championships with a time of 25:12.

High School

While running for the Tigers of St. Anges Academy, Kara earned four letters in both cross country and track and field.  Kara was a two time recipient of the Cross Country Tiger Award while also being a Marine Science Award winner. 

Personal

Kara is the daughter of Mike and Rena and has one brother, Kevin.  Kara is majoring in education at SU.
