2013

Medrano worked his way into being a top runner for the Pirates in his second season. He raced to a season best time of 27:22.4 at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships with the top finish for the Pirates. He earned one top 10 finish checking 10^th at the Texas Lutheran Invitational and placing in the top 15 at three other meets. Medrano also earned all-SCAC honors after finishing 11th at the SCAC Championships.

2012 (First-year)

Medrano opened the season with his best finish of the year as he raced to a third place finish at the Concordia/Southwestern Dual Meet with a time of 23:24.1 on the 4 mile course. He raced in four events including the NCAA III Region Championships where he posted his best time of the season on the 8k course with a time of 28:57.3.

High School

A 2011 graduate, Medrano earned letters in track and cross country for the Eagles. He was the 2010 team MVP and 2010 District 14 5A Athlete-of-the-Year. 

Personal

Alex is the son of Angela and Alfred Medrano and has two siblings, Alfred and Robert. He is majoring in computer science at Southwestern.
