Pirates Dominate

The Southwestern Pirates dominated McMurry University on Saturday afternoon.  The Pirates placed first in 9 of the 13 events.

Katie Lelinski not only took first place in the 1000 freestyle, she also set a personal best with a time of 11:39.13.  Both the 400 yard medley relay and the 200 yard freestyle relay placed first.  The 400 yard medley team outswam the McMurry swimmers by nearly 7 seconds.

In an impressive display, the Pirates took 1st, Elizabeth Lewis, 2nd, Emmy Gradisar, and 3rd, Melissa Nelson.   Not stopping there, Southwestern also took all three top spots in the 200 individual medley thanks to Sarah Ayers, Emily Haskell, and Mara Weidmann.  Both Elizabeth Lewis in the 500 freestyle and Mara Weidmann in the 100 breast stroke not only took first place, but each turned in their second best time of the year.

The Pirates return to the pool on November 13 against Colorado College in Georgetown at 11AM.
