KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Southwestern senior midfielder, Lindsay Jakszta, was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Women's All-Scholar Region Team Monday evening.
Jakzsta, a captain for the Pirates in her final season, not only excelled on the field but also in the classroom. She is a psychology major and currently holds a GPA of 3.62. She was a First Team All-SCAC selection in 2013 and led her team to a SCAC Championship appearance against Trinity. Jakzsta was sixth in the SCAC in goals scored with 11 and tied for fourth with seven assists, placing her sixth in points with 29. In her final season she posted a .167 shot percentage and .515 shots on goal percentage with four game winning goals.
The Southwestern Pirates ended their season with a loss in the conference finals to Trinity. Their 9-3 SCAC record set a new Southwestern record for conference wins in a season. They ended the year 10-8-2 overall.
