RUYLE GRABS CONFERENCE COACH OF THE YEAR TITLE FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

In exclusive voting by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches, Dan Ruyle has been named as the women's golf Coach-of-the-Year for the 2008-2009 season. This is the third consecutive year Coach Ruyle has earned this award from his colleagues.

Coach Ruyle guided the Pirates to their third consecutive SCAC conference title this season which resulted in their third trip in five years to the NCAA Championships held this year in Port St. Lucie, FL. Southwestern claimed fourth place in the Championships, the second highest performance in SU's history, behind solid performances by the Pirates and a top three finish by Marisa Mauldin.

The three consecutive SCAC titles puts Southwestern in elite status in the conference as only one other team in SCAC women's golf history has produced such a streak.
