SEAGRAVES EARNS SCAC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK NOD


SHAE SEAGRAVES OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, junior forward from Georgetown, Texas, has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 11 through Sunday, January 17.

Seagraves was unstoppable in the two games this weekend, averaging 29 points per game as Southwestern went 2-0. She shot 60% (21-for-35) from the floor and 40% (4-for-10) from three point range and 80% (12-for-15) from the line as well as averaging seven rebounds, 3.5 assists, three blocks and two steals per game.

Seagraves posted 32 points against Sewanee on Friday and set a new record for Southwestern since joining the SCAC. Her 13 made field goals vs. Sewanee was also a new record as SU moved to 8-8 on the year and 4-3 in the SCAC after the weekend action.

On the year, Seagraves is averaging 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per contest.

The Pirates head out on a tough two-game road trip this weekend with games at DePauw and Centre on Friday and Saturday evening, the top two teams in the east.
