Pirates Drop Meet to Tigers
The Pirates dropped their meet in San Antonio against the Tigers by a score of 143-56 on Saturday. First year Garrett Holody once again made a splash by swimming personal bests in both the 200 freestyle (1:59.74) and the 100 freestyle (52.68) where he placed second place by less than once second. Stephen Montes was the top Pirate finisher in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.35. Patrick Flanigan had a strong showing in the 100 backstroke, finishing in second place with a time of 58.92. In the 200 breast stroke Samuel Visser placed second with a time of 2:28.71. In the final event, the 400 freestyle relay, the Pirate team of Patrick Flanigan, Garrett Holody, Ivan Cruickshank, and Andrian Gomez placed second with a time of 3:30.32.
The Pirates will return to action on November 5 against McMurry University at 1pm in a home meet in Georgetown, TX.
