FINAL REGULAR SEASON MEET SHOWS GOOD SIGNS FOR SCAC CHAMPIONSHIP

GEORGETOWN, Texas - A strong McMurry swim club challenged the Pirates in their final dual meet of the season and resulted in strong swims as Southwestern heads into the SCAC Championships in two weeks. SU had three event wins but feel to MCM 121-63.
Southwestern had their best results of the day in the 100 breaststroke where Jon LaRochelle and John Prater finished one, two and within three-tenths of a second of each other. LaRochelle took first swimming a 1:04.47 while Prater came in second at 1:04.77.
First-year Patrick Flanigan also finished in first place, out-touching MCM's Ben Sherwood at the wall, with a time of 58.67.
Taylor Steele swam well in the 100 yard free, coming in second in a time of 53.48 and three Pirates captured second, third and fourth in the 50 free. Flanigan came in second in a time of 23.49, Josh Stanfield took third at 24.69 and La Rochelle finished fourth at 25.61.
The Pirates head to Louisville, KY in two weeks for the SCAC Championships held at the Ralph R. Wright Natatorium on the campus of the University of Louisville February 17-20th.
