2012 (Junior)

Charles competed in 8 tournaments for the Pirates. He recorded a team low 75.89 average score. He finished in the top-10 three times this season, the best finish being 4th out of 59 golfers at the West Region Invitational shooting 76-72-77. He was named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.

2011 (Sophomore)

Charles competed in nine tournaments for the Pirates, posting a 79.36 average score, the lowest for Southwestern this season. He won the UMHB Spring Invitational and had four other top ten finishes including ending tied for fourth, tied for first in the region, at the SCAC Championships where he earned a spot on the All-SCAC First Team.

2009 (First-Year)

Charles participated in 10 tournaments with an average score of 76.14. He was named SCAC Freshman-of-the-Year and was First Team All-SCAC. 

High School

As a golfer for the Hillsboro Eagles, James was the golfer of the year each year he was in high school, 3 time All-District, 2 time All-Region, and was top 20 in State.

Personal

James is the son of Michael and Linda and has one brother, Matthew.  James is a kinesiology major with a minor in economics at SU.
