Men's Golf Earn Team Academic Award
NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Athletic Association (GCAA) announced their 2012 team academic awards and Southwestern University was named as an All-Academic Team. SU was one of only 27 Division III schools to earn the distinction and joined Oglethorpe in representing the former SCAC.

Charles Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar
NORMAN, Okla. – Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for Divisions I, II and the NAIA have been announced by the GCAA. A total of 146 players in Division I, 52 in Division II and 14 in NAIA earned the honor, including Southwestern's James Charles. Additionally, 26 honorees were added to the previously released Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars.

105 Pirates Earn SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll Honors
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named 1,037 student-athletes to the 2012 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total is the third-highest for a single period in the history of the award.

SUWANEE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its fourth annual Men’s Golf All-Sportsmanship team. Ten men’s golf players were selected to the 2012 squad including Southwestern University's Joe Brandt.

TUNICA, Miss. - After strong day one the Pirate men struggled to find that same magic in the second and third rounds and ended the SCAC Conference Championships in sixth place with 929 strokes.

2012 SCAC Spring Championships - Tournament Links and Brackets
SUWANEE, Ga. - The busiest weekend of the 2011-12 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference sports season has arrived. Championships in the spring sports will be decided over the course of four days beginning on Thursday, April 26 with the Southwestern softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf and men's and women's track & field competing.

39 Student-Athletes Receive Senior Watches at Annual Ceremony
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Thanks to the generous donations of parents, alumni and students in the Pirate Crew, Southwestern University's Booster Club, the Athletic Department was able to continue the tradition of awarding watches to senior athletes whom had completed eligibility while at SU. This is the third year for the ceremony.

Pirates Have Strong Showing at Home Tournament
GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Pirate men’s and women’s golf teams hosted the Southwestern Invitational Golf Tournament earlier this week at Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown. The men finished first out of ten teams competing while the women came in at second out of seven.

Pirates Snag Third at Alamo City Classic
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Southwestern men's golf team came storming back in the second day of action at the Alamo City Classic to finish in third place out of eight teams. Three Pirates shot below or even-par on the second day to end with 590 strokes, 11 shy of the top spot.

Men's Golf Finishes in Sixth at UMHB
BELTON, Texas - Tough competition and an even more difficult course challenged the Pirates at the UMHB Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Southwestern came in sixth place, just 20 strokes out of the top spot occupied by Tyler Junior College.

TUNICA, Miss. - Southwestern men's golf team was just nine strokes off the lead after one round but faltered in day two to finish in 10th place at the Rhodes College Men's Fall Classic Sunday and Monday.

Pirate Men Tie for Fifth Place at First Tournament
SEGUIN, Texas - In their first tournament of the 2011-12 season the Pirate men had a solid showing, finishing tied for fifth place at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational. After three rounds of action SU ended with 904 strokes, as did McMurry.

Revamped Training Room Offers Better Service to Athletes
Thanks to generous donations and various fundraising events throughout the years the Southwestern University Athletic Department unveiled their newly remodeled athletic training facility this fall. The updates include an expanded treatment area, additional taping/treatment tables, custom paint (with logos still to come), a flat-screen television, new computers and new countertops.
