RICHARDSON, Texas - Southwestern starting quarterback, Frederick Hover, was named American Southwest Conference (ASC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Sunday afternoon.
Hover led the offensive attack that set school single game records in rushing yardage (500), rushing attempts (74), yards per attempt (6.8), total points (52), and points in a half (35). Hover ran the ball 23 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He also went 9-for-14 through the air for 113 yards and another two TDs in the Pirates' 56-12 win over the War Hawks.
The Pirates are back at the friendly confines of Birkelbach Stadium on Saturday September 16th as they host East Texas Baptist. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
