Seagraves came to Southwestern in 1992 as the head women's basketball coach and assistant professor. Today, she continues to serve the athletic department and Southwestern University as a whole as the Associate Director of Athletics, Senior Woman Administrator, Chair of the Exercise and Sport Studies Program and Assistant Professor.

During her nine year (1992-2001) tenure as women's basketball coach Seagraves compiled an 108-115 record and coached numerous all-conference players. Seagraves has an impressive 243-198 coaching record for her career. She also served as the head women's golf coach from 1996-2000. Seagraves was named SCAC Coach-of-the-Year for basketball once and golf twice, won one SCAC basketball title and two SCAC golf titles. She has an NCAA National Tournament appearance in both sports, taking the women's golf team to a fifth place finish.

Prior to Southwestern Seagraves was the Head Women's Basketball Coach, Assistant Softball Coach, physical education instructor, interim Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Allegheny College from 1986-1992; Head Women's Basketball Coach, Assistant Director of Athletics and physical education instructor at Kennesaw State University from 1984-1986; and Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and physical education instructor at Allegheny College from 1981-1984.

Seagraves is a 1981 graduate of Ohio State University where she was a four year letterwinner on the women's basketball team. She earned a M.A. in Education from Allegheny College in 1989.
